My last short story

It is my last, now onto my techno killers book. I know the short stories were fun to write, and I hope fun to read. I am sure the book will be too. I hope all who read the short stories loved them as much as I loved writing them for the world. I cannot wait to see how liked my book is. And how I develop this killer. This I cannot wait to do. Writing this character has been quite an adventure. I wonder where this story will go and have a great imagination of possibilities.

I would love to hear from anyone who read my short stories, and any comments will be appreciated. I hope you enjoy this last short story.

Desire to escape

In horror or thriller books and movies, people always have this desire to escape the killer. I think that people, in general, feel the need to escape their captor. And this normal human condition is how I start when with writing. I first start with thinking about the character, and even though they will want to escape, I chose at the beginning of the book whether or not they will escape. Once I know this, I know how much effort the person will put in to get to the desired escape or how much effort will be lost. Take my first published book. I use this idea of the need for escape and play on the mental state of the captive. This play creates a world of a fight between wanted to survive and wanting to leave. Interestingly, the need for survival, even if the person wishes for escape, can play a role in whether or not the person does escape.

Beginning of the Techno Killer’s book

I have started the book, but I want to get it right, which means time and creativity. I feel that this character deserves such a great book, and I will do my best to deliver it. I don’t know how long this book will take to write, but I have so many ideas. I’m just unsure which ones to use and which ones not to use. I guess I have a ton of work to do. So I will leave you all with this, be imaginative and be creative in any area of life because that is what gives life such a worth to live.

Psychology in books?

It can be hard sometimes writing about psychological issues because each person will see things differently, and therefore there are many ways to write a psychological issue. I think, as a writer, you need first to see what the character that you are creating is like, how they may perceive or relate in the situation, which also has bearings in how they would react and how the issues would affect them psychologically. I think psychology plays a huge role in many stories, so why not use psychology as an advantage and develop characters with more depth and that people can relate to in stories. Whether it is being depressed or being super excited, or even grief, we all have those moments, and to be able to capture them in a novel is a great thing for writers to do because it makes their characters more real.

Second to last

This is my second to last short story. I cannot wait to start the techno killer’s book. I feel like I have developed this killer’s personality to be one of a pure psychopath. I just love this character, although I would never consent to what the killer does. I find that creating this character takes a lot of imagination. In this short story, I took the idea of jeopardy and made it with a twist. My killer loves playing games, and this is just one more way for the killer to play the games and kill people. I hope you enjoy it.

The last short story will not be posted in the coming week. I wish to take my time and make the last short story a great one. I hope not to disappoint, but I will do my best to make the last short story and then the techno killer’s book some of my best work that the world can enjoy.

Characters

I like characters with depth. When writing thrillers/horrors/psychological types of books, I want my characters to have a depth to them. Because in many ways, whether it be the killer or the victim, the character needs to have many levels to them. Because they go through situations and traumas, they need to have a certain understanding or lack thereof. It makes the character someone worth reading. Take my techno killer, and there is so much there to this character. This killer leaves much to the unknown. Why for me, if I were reading about him, I would want to know why. Why? Why do characters feel the need to do what they do? What kind of past did they have, or are they just pure psychopaths? The development of a character is important to any story. Without the characters, there is no story. This is why I like to put all I can into developing their mental status and who they are as a character. And in many ways, once I have the character, the story kind of develops from the character.

Sixth story only so many left

We are getting close to the end of my short stories, with only two left. Then I will be writing the techno killer’s book. I hope my killer has kept you on your toes. This week it’s number six. It is a twist on the seven deadly sins. However, the seven deadly sins are a very old concept. The techno killer uses technology with the old ideas to create new and improved ideas to how death should go. I had to be very creative in figuring out how each kill to be connected to each kind of sin. However, it’s not perfect, and I did try my best to make it relatable to each sin in some form or fashion. Let me know what you think of how this killer is doing. I would enjoy all feedback.

Tools of the trade

In writing, tools are an important part of a story, especially for thrillers, horrors, and anything with suspense. Making sure you use the right kind of tools in the story can make or break a story. I think it’s essential to pick interesting tools, especially when trying to portray a world of horror. Such as using kitchen tools that no one would think of as being used for evil things and using them in a way that can make a person’s toes curl. In my book, escapees, since I portray criminals, some of who have an evil ideology, I think that using tools in ways that are not necessarily seen as possible put more fear and horror into the world of my book. But one thing I do believe is important that if the book is written in the real world, then the writer must make sure that whatever is used as a tool or done is realistic to the reader. It is one thing writing a fairy tale with things that are impossible or unnatural. But when writing in a real-world scenario, the writer should make sure that it is something possible yet not something that a normal person would think about doing. That I find brings out how imaginative a writer can be.

Here’s an excerpt from my book, escapees, for an example

“Then he took a peeler and started to peel the skin off Jerry’s other foot, flaying into the skin, taking a chunk of skin.”

Short story number 5

This killer, I love to write him. I am having so much fun with this character. He keeps developing as a character of pure evil in many ways. My character loves games, and his games always end with death. This new story takes an age-old game of Russian roulette and changes it into a game of a more dangerous nature. I find making the killer the main character an interesting way of writing. You have to not just develop the character in destructive ways but think outside of the box for your character to improve on his evil self. I hope I am doing a good job at making this character shine with his sinful self. The more my stories develop, the more I find the killer is innovative and creative in his tortures and killings. I have a few more short stories for this killer, and then it will be moving onto his book. And yes, I have an entire book for this character, now it’s to take it out of my head and put it onto paper (computer).

Have fun reading.

Out of words

Has anyone ever been lost for words? Words are the writer’s life, yet we all come across that moment where you get blocked, where you are out of words. What does a writer do when they have no more words to make into stories? Or when they have no endings to their stories? It can be a challenging moment for any writer to be faced with when they are in an out-of-words phase. But it happens to all writers at some point. But all writers have ways to get them out of the impending writer’s block. For me, it does not happen often, and my head tends to reel with stories and words. But it does come once in a while a moment of word block. What do I do? I put my writing aside for a time, I start another book or something else, and then I come back to my writing. I reread what I have, and usually, it stirs all that I had that needed to be put into words. What do you do as a trick to overcome that overwhelming writer’s block?
